About
Dan
Dan Jaboor is an American artist whose collage-based practice blends vintage ephemera with contemporary sensibilities, producing images that carry a distinctly poetic charge. Working in mixed media on paper, wood panels and found objects, Jaboor layers aged photographs, typography and printed materials into compositions that read like visual poems—fragmented, suggestive and open to interpretation. He also creates digital collages from photographs he has taken of vintage sources, extending this lyrical approach into a modern format.
Jaboor’s work is marked by an interest in memory, time and transformation, as well as in themes of gender roles, feminism and duality. Figures and symbols are often placed in tension, inviting viewers to consider contrasts between strength and vulnerability, tradition and subversion. While the imagery can be contemplative, it is equally capable of irreverence, using wit and visual disruption to challenge expectations and unsettle familiar narratives.
Through the reuse of discarded or overlooked materials, Jaboor explores how meaning shifts when objects are removed from their original context and reassembled into new stories. In addition to his studio practice, he writes regularly about art, creativity and music, and has been involved in community efforts to support local cultural institutions. His work is shared through original pieces and prints, reaching audiences through exhibitions, publications and online platforms.
