Art has been a life-long passion for me. I strive to have my artwork reveal the innate sacredness hidden deep within all nature. Creating art brings me a deep level of contentment that I do not find in any other activity. My heart sings when the creative process springs to life. It is the depth of gratitude that creativity brings, which I attempt to convey to others, the very ecstasy of life itself.
Today with society moving at lightning speed, we can lose the joy of the everyday simple things. I believe that the sheer vitality of art can reawaken us. Finally, the creative process remains incomplete without the engagement of another person’s response. This is the key to completing the circle of creation. Consequently, it is for this reason that I seek to share my work with others, bringing the possibility of enjoyment and fulfillment to us all.
Nancy is proud to be active in the St. Louis art scene. She was the founding member and president of Art St. Louis, originally named St. Louis Artists Coalition, from 1985 – 1992. Art St. Louis is now in its 32nd year and offers ongoing support for local artists in gallery and corporate settings. She also produced and hosted a cablevision program which presented interviews about the creative process with local artists as well as artists in China, Japan and France.
Her two large-scale archival handmade paper public commissions consist of 10, 5’ x 4’ panels, which span walls 18’ x 20’ traveling from lobby to skylight. The panels are embedded with wire mesh to support collage elements of print, acrylic, wire and glass.
Her artwork work is represented in many public installations and private art collections in the US as well as London, England and Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay.
